BBC National Orchestra of Wales

BBC National Orchestra of Wales (BBC NOW) is one of the UK’s most versatile orchestras, with a varied range of work as both a broadcast orchestra and national symphony orchestra of Wales. The Orchestra’s adventurous programming is driven by Principal Conductor Thomas Søndergård and Conductor Laureate Tadaaki Otaka. BBC Symphony Orchestra

The BBC Symphony Orchestra has played a central role at the heart of British musical life since it was founded in 1930. It provides the backbone of the BBC Proms, performing around a dozen concerts in the festival each year. Highlights of the 2016 Proms season include performances of Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky, Janáček’s opera The Makropolus Case plus the First and Last Nights, both conducted by BBC SO Chief Conductor Sakari Oramo.

Robin Blaze

David Bowerman

David Bowerman was born in 1936 and took a BSc degree before a long career in farming. Family duties did not allow any form of musical training and his knowledge of musical matters is largely self-taught. It was only after retirement that he and his wife built "The Music Room" at their home, Champs Hill, and musical interest was re-kindled. This has opened vast opportunities to present classical music to the people of Sussex, to give young artists the chance to play in public and to make recordings.
