LUCY CROWE

Born in Staffordshire, Lucy studied at the Royal Academy of Music, where she was appointed a Fellow in 2014.

With repertoire ranging from Purcell, Handel and Mozart to Donizetti’s Adina and Verdi’s Gilda, she has sung at major houses including the Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne Festival, English National Opera, Teatro Real Madrid, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bavarian State Opera and the Metropolitan Opera.

In concert, she has performed with many of the world’s finest conductors and orchestras including the LA Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel; the Boston Symphony under Andris Nelsons; the Accademia Santa Cecilia under Sir Antonio Pappano; the Berliner Philharmoniker under Sir Simon Rattle; the Orchestre National de France under Daniele Gatti; the Philharmonia under Esa-Pekka Salonen; the London Symphony under Daniel Harding and Sir Mark Elder; the City of Birmingham Symphony under Sir John Eliot Gardner; the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment under Sir Charles Mackerras; and the Monteverdi Choir & Orchestra under Sir John Eliot Gardiner at venues including Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall and Concertgebouw and the BBC Proms, Aldeburgh, Edinburgh, Mostly Mozart and Salzburg Festivals.

Lucy’s recordings include Handel’s Il Pastor Fido and a Handel & Vivaldi disc with La Nuova Musica under David Bates for Harmonia Mundi; a Lutoslawski disc with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Edward Gardner, Handel’s Alceste with  Christian Curnyn and the Early Opera Company, and Eccles’ The Judgement of Paris all for Chandos and a solo Handel disc - ll Caro Sassone – with Harry Bicket and the English Concert on Harmonia Mundi.
